Arkansas State Police say 2 people killed in separate collisions on Arkansas roadways


FORREST CITY, Arkansas — Arkansas State Police say two people have been killed in separate auto accidents on state roadways.

Troopers say 69-year-old Leonard Lawrence of Charleston, West Virginia, died Sunday in a collision on Interstate 40 east of Forrest City. A police report says Lawrence was driving eastbound on the interstate when his vehicle crossed the median and collided with a westbound pickup truck.

Troopers say 39-year-old Kara Thompson of Rogers also was killed Sunday in a head-on collision on Highway 12 near Rogers.

The police report says Thompson was driving eastbound on the highway when her vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a westbound vehicle.
