SEYMOUR, Indiana — Indiana school districts that have missed more than a week of class due to winter weather are searching for ways to make up those days.

Trinity Lutheran High School in Seymour had students attend class Saturday. Other districts are adding days the week after graduation.

School officials tell The Tribune ( ) they hope the state Department of Education will offer the option of extending school days as it did last year, when some districts had to make up 15 days. The department hasn't given schools that option yet this year.

Indiana requires students to have 180 days of instruction each year. Some districts build "flex" days into their calendars to allow for snow days, but they don't always equal the number of weather-related closings.
