NEW PORT RICHEY, Florida — Authorities say a Tampa Bay area school bus carrying 33 students rear-ended a car.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that none of the students on their way to River Ridge High and Middle schools were injured Monday morning, but the driver and a teenage passenger in the rear-ended car sustained minor injuries.

FHP reports that the car was stopped in traffic when the bus failed to brake and hit it.

The Pasco County school bus driver was cited for careless driving.
