LA PLAGNE, France — Americans Elana Meyers Taylor and Cherrelle Garrett won the women's bobsled World Cup on Friday for their fourth win this season.

Their two-run time was 0.24 seconds faster than second-place Jamie Greubel Poser and Lauryn Williams in a 1-2 for the American team in the French Alps.

Olympic champion Kaillie Humphries and Melissa Lotholz of Canada finished third, 0.51 second back.

With the event also counting as the European championship, Anja Schneiderheinze and Franziska Bertels claimed the continental title after finishing fifth. Cathleen Martini and Stephanie Schneider took the silver, and Stefanie Szczurek and Erline Nolte the bronze in a German sweep of the medals.

Meyers Taylor extended her overall World Cup lead over Schneiderheinze to 89 points.
