HARRINGTON, Delaware — Delaware State Police say a couple was hurt when they were ejected from the motorcycle they were riding in a crash near Harrington.

It happened about 7:35 p.m. Saturday on South DuPont Highway. Troopers say 55-year-old Carl W. Miller, of Marydel was driving a motorcycle north. Sixty-two-year-old William Wooters of Felton was following him on a motorcycle. Wooters' wife, 56-year-old Mary Ann Wooters, was a passenger on Wooters' cycle.

Police say a van turned north from Williamsville Road and began traveling up the shoulder, then pulled in front of Miller's motorcycle. Investigators say Miller braked suddenly, and Wooters hit the rear of Miller's vehicle.

Officers say William and Mary Ann Wooters, who were not wearing helmets, were thrown from the motorcycle. Troopers say they were taken to local hospitals.
