BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma — A.J. Freeth returned the opening kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown as Wagoner defeated district rival Oologah-Talala Friday night in the Oklahoma Class 4A football championship game.

Seth Jensen gave Oologah a 7-6 lead two minutes later on a 1-yard run, but Wagoner scored the game's next four touchdowns. Scottie Patton's 25-yard run made it 12-7 shortly after Jensen's run, and his 7-yard score in the second quarter made it 25-7.

Nikia Jones caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Malcolm Rodriguez to make it 31-7 at halftime. Oologah (8-6) closed to 31-21 by the end of the third quarter but Freeth and Roman Rodriguez scores in the final period put the game away.

Wagoner (11-3) rolled up 466 yards in total offense, including 331 yards on the ground, as it won its ninth game in a row. The defense limited Oologah to 321 yards. Oologah saw an eight-game win streak snapped. It had started the season with five consecutive losses.
