SALT LAKE CITY — A Provo judge is sentencing a woman to jail time and probation after her 3-month-old baby boy died two years ago.

Judge Derek Pullan said Tuesday the baby suffered greatly under the care of his mother, 30-year-old Brianna Brown. She will serve 90 days in jail and three years' probation.

The Daily Herald of Provo reports ( ) Brown pleaded guilty in October to three counts of child endangerment as part of a plea deal, acknowledging she exposed her children to marijuana.

Her boyfriend is facing a child abuse homicide charge in the case and scheduled to go to trial in April. Joshua Jay Harding has pleaded not guilty.

Baby Paxton Stokes died in November 2012 of head trauma, and police said he also had other injuries.
