BOSTON — Boston police say a man has been killed and four people injured in three separate shootings within about an hour overnight.
The fatal shooting happened just before 3 a.m. Saturday on Creston Street in the Dorchester neighborhood. Two other people had non-life-threatening injuries in that incident.
The first shooting was reported on Blue Hill Avenue just before 2 a.m. Police Superintendent William Gross tells The Boston Globe that injured victim was found in a car a short distance away, apparently trying to drive to a hospital. A man was wounded in the third shooting on Bowdoin Street in Dorchester at about 2:30 a.m.
Police don't yet know if the shootings are related, or if they have any connection to an annual Caribbean festival that began early Saturday.
The headlines on this story have been corrected to show that four people, not three were injured.
