Anonymous tip leads to Los Angeles arrest of driver allegedly involved in fatal hit-and-run

LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles police have arrested an alleged hit-and-run driver who drove off following a crash that killed a motorcyclist earlier this month.

The collision between the motorcycle and a car occurred early in the morning of Sept. 12 in Panorama City. The motorcyclist, Gabriel Carmona-Guerrero, died at a hospital.

Officials say on Monday police arrested Mario Eduardo Martinez on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and felony hit and run. The 23-year-old North Hills resident was held in lieu of $50,000 bail. It wasn't immediately known if he has a lawyer.

City News Service says detectives were led to Martinez after receiving an anonymous tip.
