CHARLESTON, West Virginia — A Poca man is West Virginia's latest $1 million lottery jackpot winner.

Robert Carter bought a ticket for the Aug. 2 drawing that matched all five numbers but missed the Powerball.

Carter claimed the $1 million prize on Monday during a news conference at the West Virginia Lottery's headquarters in Charleston.

The West Virginia Lottery says in a news release that Carter's ticket is the 10th Powerball ticket worth $1 million or more sold in West Virginia this year. Two Mega Millions tickets worth $1 million or more also have been sold in the state this year.

Eleven of the prizes have been claimed. A Powerball ticket worth $1 million that was sold for the Feb. 11 drawing went unclaimed.
