Civil rights lawsuit alleges 2 autistic boys were abused in Pomona schools

POMONA, California — A civil rights lawsuit claims the Pomona Unified School District allowed the abuse of two autistic students.

The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin (http://bit.ly/1MiQaOD ) says the federal suit was filed this week against the district, special education coordinators and other officials.

The suit contends that a 9-year-old boy and a 12-year-old boy received scratches, cuts and bruises while in the care of educators and one boy was improperly restrained and lost a tooth.

Elizabeth Eubanks of the Disability Rights Legal Center, which filed the suit, contends district employees didn't receive proper training to work with the seriously disabled.

The district says it's investigating the complaints.
