NASHVILLE, Tennessee — Officials say a 31-year-old man has been killed in flooding caused by severe storms in Middle Tennessee.

According to WSMV-TV, Cumberland County emergency officials say the man was found dead inside his car after his vehicle was swept by floodwater into an embankment Thursday. His name has not been released.

Reports of flooding also were received from Putnam and Jackson counties as several inches of rain fell in those areas.

Meanwhile, National Weather Service officials say the storms spawned one tornado near Lebanon and two other tornadoes in Old Hickory on Thursday night.

The Old Hickory tornadoes were both given a preliminary rating of EF0. They caused minor roof damage to several homes.
