COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Supreme Court has permanently disbarred an attorney who was accused of facilitating bribery schemes and imprisoned after a government corruption probe in the Cleveland area.

The court issued its decision Wednesday for attorney Anthony O. Calabrese III of Chagrin Falls, who pleaded guilty to felony charges including bribery. Federal prosecutors alleged he bribed people in exchange for favors benefiting himself, his firm and its clients.

The Northeast Ohio Media Group (http://bit.ly/1FU1FMh ) reports that Ohio's attorney disciplinary board recommended the 42-year-old Calabrese be disbarred and concluded his misconduct over a decade hurt his profession and the public.

Calabrese had sought indefinite suspension instead of disbarment.

He is among more than three dozen people convicted in connection with the corruption investigation.
