Hinds County jailer fired following his arrest on charge of sexual battery

JACKSON, Mississippi — A Hinds County jailer has been fired following his arrest on a charge of sexual battery.

Hinds County Sheriff's Department spokesman Othor Cain tells The Clarion-Ledger (http://on.thec-l.com/1Lr2Gjr) 57-year-old said Stanley Martin, of Yazoo City, was booked Saturday into the Hinds County jail.

Cain said he could not discuss whether there was actually any physical contact between the inmate and the jailer.

He says there's pending litigation in the case, so there are not a lot of details that can be released.

Online jail records did not list an attorney for Martin.
