MILWAUKEE — The hottest weather of the season has arrived in the Badger State.
Forecasters are expecting another day of hot and humid conditions with heat indices around 100. The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for southwestern Wisconsin until 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The excessive heat caused Highway 29 to buckle in Lake Hallie and in Stanley Monday afternoon. WEAU-TV (http://bit.ly/1ngqSrD ) reports both westbound lanes at county Highway F were temporarily closed.
The high temperatures and humidity heightens the risk of heat stress and stroke, especially for the young and the elderly.
