Coroner says Amish logger killed when tree limb falls on him; death an 'unfortunate accident'

PATTON, Pennsylvania — The funeral was set for an Old Order Amish logger killed by a falling tree limb in western Pennsylvania.

Cambria County Coroner Dennis Kwiatkowski says 20-year-old Benuel Swarey, of Allensville, was killed on state game lands in Clearfield Township on Friday morning.

Swarey was cutting trees with his father, who owned Pine Hollow Logging, and another man when he died.

Kwiatkowski says the men were cutting down one tree when a limb fell off another, killing Swarey.

Swarey's funeral was set for Monday morning.

Clearfield Township is about 80 miles east of Pittsburgh.
