Fayetteville, Bentonville, use out-of-state victories to keep top spots in AP's Arkansas poll


LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas — Victories over out-of-state teams helped Fayetteville and Bentonville keep their spots atop The Associated Press Arkansas high school football poll.

Fayetteville beat Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Bentonville beat Rickards, Florida, on Friday. The top seven teams held their spots from last week: Pine Bluff is third, follow by Cabot, Pulaski Academy and Greenwood.

Bryant remains seventh, but is tied with Springdale Har-Ber. Fort Smith Southside is ninth and Little Rock Parkview enters the poll at 10th.

Every top-ranked team from last week held their spots in this week's poll.

In Class 6A, Pine Bluff is No. 1, followed by Greenwood.

Pulaski Academy leads Class 5A after being Warren.

Dardanelle tops Class 4A, Lamar is No. 1 in Class 3A and Rison held the No. 1 spot in Class 2A.
