AMSTERDAM — PSV Eindhoven's lead over Ajax in the Dutch league narrowed Sunday after drawing 1-1 at FC Groningen.
Ajax beat SC Heerenveen 4-1 Saturday and now trails PSV by just two points.
PSV had a dozen chances against Groningen but only scored on Luuk de Jong's header after 57 minutes. Groningen's Michael de Leeuw equalized with seven minutes to play.
Heerenveen went ahead against Ajax after 18 minutes as Luciano Slagveer volleyed in a loose ball on a corner kick.
But the match turned when Slagveer was sent off with two yellow cards just before halftime. Heerenveen coach Dwight Lodeweges protested and was also ejected. Ajax's four goals in the second half included a penalty and an own goal by Heerenveen.
