MULLICA TOWNSHIP, New Jersey — The death of a woman found stabbed inside a southern New Jersey home this week has been ruled a homicide.

But it's still not clear what spurred the attack on 56-year-old Lois Collier, whose body was found around 3:30 p.m. Thursday at a Mullica Township home she shared with her longtime boyfriend. Police had gone to the home after someone called 911 and reported an unconscious woman at the Weymouth Road residence.

Atlantic County prosecutors say an autopsy determined that Collier died from multiple stab wounds. But further details on the incident have not been disclosed, including what was used to stab her.

The death is being investigated by the county's major crimes unit and Mullica Township police.
