HATTIESBURG, Mississippi — One of three men indicted for capital murder in the shooting death of a Hattiesburg man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
The Hattiesburg American reports (http://hatne.ws/1LQy0pt ) Forrest County Circuit Court Judge Robert Helfrich sentenced Derrick Lamont Bolton Jr. Wednesday to 35 years in prison for his involvement in a home invasion in 2013 that left Robert Williams Jr. dead.
The 20-year-old Bolton, 21-year-old Daylon Carl Waldrop and 24-year-old David Allen Fairley were indicted last August on charges of capital murder, conspiracy and kidnapping. All three men are Hattiesburg residents.
Waldrop is scheduled for trial Tuesday.
Fairley's trial date has not been set.
