HELENA, Montana — The Montana State football team moved up, while Eastern Washington and Montana moved down in the Football Championship Subdivision polls after weekend losses.
Montana State remains the only team unbeaten in Big Sky Conference play. The Bobcats moved up two spots in both polls to eighth in The Sports Network poll and ninth in the coaches' poll.
Previously second-ranked Eastern Washington fell to sixth in the media poll and seventh in the coaches' poll after a 28-27 loss at Northern Arizona. Montana fell five spots to 11th in the coaches' poll and 12th in the media poll after a 41-21 loss at Cal Poly.
In the NAIA, Carroll College moved up a spot to second after previously second-ranked Baker of Kansas lost its first game of the season. Southern Oregon is tied for fifth, Rocky Mountain fell to 21st and Eastern Oregon is ranked 23rd.
