ELIZABETH, New Jersey — A northern New Jersey man is facing child pornography charges.
Union County prosecutors say 54-year-old Gustavo Llanes, of Elizabeth, collected and shared numerous images online. He's charged with possessing and distributing child porn.
The arrest announced Wednesday culminates a five-month investigation that started with a referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Prosecutors say Llanes repeatedly used his personal computer to share numerous images portraying what appeared to be juvenile males engaged in various sexual acts.
Prosecutors say Llanes was arrested early Tuesday at his home. Authorities seized his computer and two external hard drives.
Bail was set at $75,000 for Llanes, who could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted. It was not known Wednesday if he has retained an attorney.
