Investigators: Faulty installation of gas shut-off for stove caused Ohio home explosion

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Investigators have pinpointed the cause of an explosion that destroyed a central Ohio home.

The Columbus Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/1QRXtDb ) a defective installation of a gas shut-off valve for a stove was at fault for Tuesday's explosion in Columbus. Fire investigators say the incident was accidental.

Investigators say the leak occurred after 69-year-old Jack Morris disconnected the stove and changed the gas shut-off valve.

Morris and his 3-year-old great-granddaughter were treated at hospitals for burns and are expected to recover.
