Sheriff: Pregnant woman delivers baby shortly after being shot in torso


JACKSONVILLE, Florida — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says a woman delivered a baby shortly after being shot in the torso at her home.

The shooting happened early Thursday in Jacksonville. Police say someone shot a barrage of bullets into the home occupied by the woman, three other adults and three children.

The Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/1Vb0xhw ) reports the woman was taken to a hospital and the baby was delivered a short time later. The mother and baby are reported to be in stable condition.

It was not clear whether anyone else in the house was injured.

No further details were immediately available.
