LINCOLN, Nebraska — Authorities say a Colombian woman who was a passenger in her daughter's car has died after a collision in south Lincoln.

The accident occurred a little before 7:45 a.m. Monday at South 56th and Van Dorn streets. Police say a southbound car driven by 28-year-old Margarita Marroquin-Guzman was attempting to turn left onto Van Dorn when it was struck on the passenger side by a pickup driven by 57-year-old Douglas Walker.

Police say 61-year-old Luz Guzman-Carrera died later at a Lincoln hospital. She was the mother of Marroquin-Guzman.

Walker, Marroquin-Guzman and another passenger in her car, 27-year-old Pedro Rivera, also were hospitalized.

The collision is being investigated.
