SIOUX FALLS, South Dakota — Sioux Falls has submitted a big package to host early round games in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament in 2017 and 2018.

The Argus Leader reports (http://argusne.ws/1r0oiKp ) that the NCAA has reduced the minimum venue capacity to 10,000, putting the nearly completed $117 million Denny Sanford Premier Center in play. The facility will seat about 12,000 fans.

Sioux Falls now also has five Class A hotels, the number required by the NCAA.

Bids were due Wednesday. Selections will be announced in November.

Sioux Falls has hosted the Summit League's combined men's and women's basketball tournament since 2009, breaking records for attendance.
