All aboard next door! Temporary train station opens in Rochester amid construction work

ROCHESTER, New York — A temporary train station is being opened in Rochester as work continues on a new station.

New York state transportation officials say that Amtrak service will move on Monday to a temporary train station next to the Rochester Station on Central Ave. The temporary station has a ticket window, a waiting area and restrooms.

The move is part of the $29.8 million project to build a new Rochester train station.

The temporary station will be in use until the new station is complete in the fall of 2017.
