2 injured in overnight shooting in Norfolk


NORFOLK, Virginia — Police say that two people have been injured in an overnight shooting.

News media report that Norfolk police said that emergency dispatchers were notified about a gunshot victim in Norfolk's Park Place neighborhood around 3 a.m. Sunday.

Cpl. Melinda Wray, a spokeswoman for the department, says the victim was taken the hospital with injuries that are not considered life threatening.

Another person arrived at the same hospital with a gunshot wound that police say is also not life threatening. Police say they believe the injuries occurred in the same shooting.

Police have not identified either of the people involved.
