MINOT, North Dakota — Police in Minot have arrested a woman they say intentionally set fire to an apartment that she and her husband rented.
Authorities who responded to the Wednesday fire deemed it suspicious. Authorities began looking for the 37-year-old woman, and Ward County deputies arrested her a short time later after she was involved in a single-vehicle rollover crash.
The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment and then arrested on a felony charge of endangering by fire. Formal charges were not immediately filed.
Police Capt. John Klug (kloog) says authorities have not yet identified a possible motive. He says the woman allegedly tried to set several fires in the apartment, causing mostly smoke and water damage. Her husband wasn't home at the time, and no one was hurt.
