OPELIKA, Alabama — Authorities say a motorcyclist has been killed when his bike and a vehicle collided in Opelika.

Opelika police say the crash happened around 7:15 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Marvyn Parkway and Gateway Drive.

Lee County Coroner Bill Harris identified the deceased motorcycle driver, the only one on the bike, as 43-year-old Christopher Collins of Opelika.

Harris said the driver of the other vehicle, an SUV, was not hurt.

The Opelika-Auburn News reports ( that Opelika police were continuing to investigate the collision.
