NYPD: Male body pulled from the Hudson River near Governor's Island

NEW YORK — The NYPD says police retrieved the body of an unidentified man found in the Hudson River.

Officers responded after getting a 911 call of a man in the river in the vicinity of Battery Park and Governor's Island at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police say the victim was transported to Pier 11 where he was pronounced dead.

The medical examiner will determine the man's identity and the cause of death.
