PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island — A Pawtucket man faces felony charges for possessing and transferring child pornography over the Internet.

Thirty-seven-year-old Jason Sperduti was arrested Thursday at his apartment after members of the Rhode Island Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a search warrant there.

Police say they identified the Internet connection at Sperduti's apartment as one that was being used to trade videos and images of child pornography. Police say they found digital media containing images of child pornography.

Sperduti was arraigned in District Court in Providence. He was released on $2,500 surety bail and was ordered to have no contact with children and stay offline. He is due back in court July 8.

It's not clear whether Sperduti is represented by an attorney who could comment on the case.
