Natchez-Adams County School District board approves $42 million 2015-16 budget

NATCHEZ, Mississippi — The Natchez-Adams County School District board has approved the district's 2015-16 budget.

The budget for the year ending June 30, 2016, anticipates revenues of just over $40 million and expenditures of over $42 million.

That means the district is anticipating a deficit of $2.6 million, requiring the district to dip into its fund balance.

The district's fund balance on July 1 of this year was $28.5 million. It is anticipated that fund balance on June 30, 2016, will be $26.2 million.

Superintendent Frederick Hill said the budget includes a four percent pay increase for custodial, child nutrition, security, school-based clerical staff and teacher's assistance.
