BILLINGS, Montana — Authorities charged a Billings man with deliberate homicide in a shooting death at a trailer park.

Billings Police Lt. Jeremy House said 32-year-old Joseph Polak was arrested in a downtown neighborhood just after midnight on Thursday by the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force.

He's suspected of killing 29-year-old Scott Marshall Hofferber on Tuesday at the Lake Elmo Trailer Court.

Chief Deputy Marshal Rod Ostermiller told the Billings Gazette (http://bit.ly/1JUOLOt) that Polak rammed his truck into a couple of the task force's vehicles but no officers were injured.

He was being held at the Yellowstone County Detention Facility on a $300,000 bond after appearing before Justice of the Peace Pro Tem Lance Lundvall.

Authorities say Hofferber was killed by a single gunshot wound to the chest.
