2 trailers holding 1,000 Christmas trees stolen from store parking lot

MIAMI — Police in South Florida are trying to find the Grinch who stole two semi-truck trailers filled with Christmas trees.

Florida Beauty vice president Frank Ducassi told The Miami Herald (http://goo.gl/ZBxabW ) that two of his company's trailers were dropped off at the Kendall Costco on Tuesday. He says the trailers, each holding 500 trees, were stolen sometime that night after 8 p.m. Satellite tracking equipment in the trailers was disconnected around midnight in Weston, about 30 miles north of the store.

Ducassi says the Fraser firs, shipped from North Carolina and Virginia, were worth about $18,000, and the two trailers were worth about $78,000.
