Average gas price falls in Rhode Island to $3.15 a gallon; down 26 cents in last month

PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island — Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are continuing their decline, falling another nickel in the past week.

AAA Southern New England said Monday its latest price survey shows the average cost of a gallon of regular self-serve in the state is $3.15. The local price is down 26 cents from a month ago. The national per-gallon average is 11 cents less, or $3.04 a gallon.

The price in Rhode Island a year ago this week was 29 cents higher, or $3.44 a gallon.

The AAA survey found a 36-cent range in prices, from a low of $3.04 to a high of $3.40.
