44-year-old Brooklyn man dies in early morning fire; 3 others injured

NEW YORK — Authorities say a man has died in an early morning blaze at a Brooklyn apartment building. Three other people were injured.

The Fire Department says the fire at 411 E. 49th Street was called in at 4:10 a.m. Sunday. It was on the top floor of a three-story building.

Police say the 44-year-old man was taken from the building to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He has been identified as Edzer Desir.

The Fire Department says three other people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The fire was under control at 4:58 a.m.
