DENVER — A search team has discovered human remains in an area of southwestern Colorado's Gunnison National Forest where a pack belonging to a missing woman was recently found by hunters.
Mount Crested Butte Police spokeswoman Marjorie Trautman tells The Denver Post (http://dpo.st/1wGA4rX ) the discovery, relative to where the waist pack was found, indicates the remains may belong to Sherri Ahlbrandt. But the identity has not been positively confirmed.
Ahlbrandt, of Littleton, went missing in the area in August, and her pack was found Oct. 18.
Crews found the human remains in the rugged Middle Anthracite Creek area Wednesday afternoon.
