BALTIMORE — Baltimore police say three men are charged with a triple shooting inside a restaurant in the Fells Point neighborhood.

Police said in a statement Sunday that the suspects were in custody and waiting to see a court commissioner. They are charged with three counts of first-degree attempted murder.

The suspects are 25-year-old Melvin Zavala and 24-year-old Argueta Andres, both of Baltimore, and 25-year-old Nehemias Batista of Halethorpe, Maryland.

Police said a man who was shot in the head early Saturday morning at the Santa Clara Restaurant is in critical condition. Another man was shot in the upper body and is expected to survive. A third man was grazed in the left foot and refused medical treatment.

Police say the shooting apparently was prompted by a dispute inside the bar.
