FERGUSON, Missouri — Authorities say one man is in custody and another is recovering from a gunshot wound to the arm following a shooting in Ferguson.

St. Louis County police say the shooting occurred around midnight in a strip mall on West Florissant Avenue, the site of much of the unrest that followed the fatal shooting of Michael Brown last year by a Ferguson officer. Several hundred protesters had gathered in Ferguson overnight to mark the one-year anniversary of that shooting.

Police say the victim was standing in the parking lot when he was shot. Police have a suspect in custody.

A Florissant police department vehicle had its rear window shattered while driving through the area around the same time. Police say they haven't determined if that's related to the shooting.
