BUENOS AIRES, Argentina — River Plate hung on to first place in the Argentine league with a 1-1 draw Sunday at home against Olimpo.
Ramiro Funes Mori gave River Plate the lead with a header in the 23rd minute, but Miguel Borja equalized in the 69th with a perfect strike from 18 meters (yards).
River Plate has 33 point from 16 matches, one ahead of Racing Club. Lanus has 30 but could move level with Racing with a victory Monday at Independiente.
Also on Sunday, Godoy Cruz and Estudiantes drew 1-1 and Newell's won 2-1 at Tigre.
In other 16th-round matches over the weekend: Defensa y Justicia 2, Atletico Rafaela 1; Rosario Central 0, Velez Sarsfield 0; Gimnasia 1, Banfield 1; San Lorenzo 4, Belgrano 0; Quilmes 0, Racing Club 1.
