LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas — Will Hefley threw for 486 yards and four touchdowns as Pulaski Academy beat Wynne 38-28 in the Class 5A championship game Saturday night.
The Bruins amassed 551 yards of offense, including 426 in the first half, as they won their fourth state title.
Hefley, who has said he'll play college football at Tulsa, overcame two first-half interceptions and completed 36 of 56 passes and earned most valuable player honors.
For Pulaski Academy (13-1), Will Hastings caught 14 passes for 234 yards and one touchdown, while Zack Kelley had 165 yards and three touchdowns on 11 receptions.
Ross Trail, who has committed to Cincinnati, completed 22 of 31 passes for 253 yards and three touchdowns for Wynne (12-2), but he was sacked 12 times. Reed Rickenbach had seven of them.
