CHARLESTON, South Carolina — A minister from Emanuel AME Church in Charleston is to be remembered at a memorial service.

A service is scheduled for the Rev. Daniel Simmons Sr. at Greater St. Luke AME Church in Charleston on Tuesday. A wake will then be held in Columbia on Wednesday, and Simmons' funeral will be held at Bethel AME Church in South Carolina's capital city on Thursday.

Simmons will be the last of the nine victims of the June 17 shootings at the predominantly black Emanuel AME to be buried. The nine were shot at a Bible study that Simmons regularly attended.

A white man, Dylann Storm Roof, faces nine counts of murder in the slayings. The Justice Department is considering whether to file hate crime charges.
