CONCORD, New Hampshire — The New Hampshire Employment Security office says the state's unemployment rate for May was unchanged from April, staying at 4.4 percent.
In May 2013, the seasonally adjusted rate for New Hampshire was 5.2 percent.
Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for May was 6.3 percent, unchanged from the April rate, and a decrease of 1.2 percentage points from the May 2013 rate.
In New Hampshire, seasonally adjusted estimates for May placed the number of employed residents at 714,510, a decrease of 90 from the previous month and an increase of 10,860 from May 2013.
The number of unemployed residents increased by 50 over the month to 32,790. This was 5,970 fewer unemployed than in May 2013.
