AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine officials say that revenues are up $31.7 million over estimates so far this fiscal year.

Richard Rosen, acting commissioner of the Department of Administrative and Financial Services, tells the Maine Public Broadcasting Network (http://bit.ly/1wU0tns ) that lawmakers shouldn't "move themselves into a moment of exuberance" with news of extra funds as the budget year isn't even halfway over yet.

Tax receipts in November came in $4.1 million above projections. Rosen says that sales tax revenues also beat projections for the first time in a while.

Rosen says lower-than-expected energy prices are in part driving the increase in revenues and warns that energy prices could change.
