ATLANTA — Adventist Health System and Emory Healthcare officials say they're closing the Emory-Adventist hospital in Smyrna.

Hospital officials said in a statement that although the hospital has cut costs, it can't attract enough patients to sustain operations. The facility is expected to close Oct. 31.

Hospital officials say the closure won't mean any immediate changes for patients. Emory-Adventist CEO Dennis Kiley says administrators will make every effort to help employees find new jobs.
