FOND DU LAC, Wisconsin — The Fond du Lac County Health Department is ending water quality tests it had done since a manure spill in May.

An estimated 50,000 gallons of manure spilled into Pipe Creek, which drains into Lake Winnebago. The spill happened at Lake Breeze Dairy Farm in Malone, to the east of the lake.

After consulting with the state, the county determined no additional testing is needed, since the creek has returned to its usual state.

WLUK-TV (http://bit.ly/1mTyJvE ) reports the surface water tests took place along the creek, in the marina and along a beach area.

Kim Mueller of the county health department says drinking water wells at county parks and at some homes near the creek also have been tested. There's been no evidence that the spill affected the wells.
