PITTSBURGH — Freezing rain and wind chills in the teens have prompted school delays in western Pennsylvania, and scattered vehicle accidents, including an overturned tractor-trailer on Interstate 79 north of the city.
That crash, near Wexford, had northbound traffic down to one lane during Friday's morning rush hour. It wasn't immediately clear if anyone was hurt.
Temperatures hovering just below freezing were causing rain to ice over roads in several areas.
Dozens of school districts were delaying classes by an hour or two to give parents and buses more time to get children safely to school.
