OCEANPORT, New Jersey — War Correspondent took the lead on the far turn and drew off in the stretch to score an easy win in the $37,800 allowance feature at Monmouth Park on Saturday, beating Sharp Omar by four lengths.

Trained by Christophe Clement and ridden by Paco Lopez, the 4-year-old colt ran the mile over a firm turf course in 1:35 2/5 and returned $4, $3.80 and $2.60.

Sharp Omar paid $8.20 and $4.20 while Best Actor was a half-length back in third and returned $3 to show.
