CASPER, Wyoming — A 64-year-old man is spending up to 15 years in prison under a plea that acknowledges prosecutors had enough evidence to convict him of sexually abusing young girls and taking nude pictures of them.

Danny Ray Capozzoli was sentenced Thursday by a Casper judge to serve between 13 and 15 years in prison for charges that he abused two girls, who were 5 and 7 years old at the time.

The girls are currently in counseling.

The defendant entered an Alford plea in January, meaning he didn't admit to the crime but acknowledged the evidence could convict him.

Capozzoli told investigators he was drunk at the time, and his attorney said in court his client was not a pedophile but an alcoholic who made a bad choice.
